I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
